The Founder's Story by Coach Mia Lyles

I am a wife, mother, and proud grandmother. I am also living proof that transformation is possible at any stage of life. As an ISSA Certified Personal Trainer, Nutritionist, and Group Fitness Instructor trained by The FIRM master instructors Nancy Tucker and Tara Judge, I have dedicated my life to helping others reclaim their health and confidence.

But my journey didn’t start in the fitness world—it started on stage. I grew up as a ballet dancer, a cheerleader, and even a beauty pageant winner. Weight was never an issue for me until after college, when the stress of life began to take its toll. I struggled with yo-yo dieting, trying every fad, shake, and quick fix I could find. At my heaviest, I had gained over 50 pounds. I became discouraged and depressed, believing that I had lost control of my body for good.

Then, one night, everything changed. While indulging in some late-night snacking, I caught an infomercial for an at-home workout program called The FIRM. I was about to change the channel when I heard that the program was created in my home state of South Carolina—and that they had a studio in my hometown! It felt like a clear sign from God. I put down my cookies and decided to give it a try.

That decision changed my life. Through The FIRM’s aerobic weight training workouts, I lost 50 pounds, gained strength and muscle tone, and found a confidence I never knew I had. I was even featured in The FIRM’s “TransFIRMer” infomercial, sharing my story with a national audience!

​Fitness gave me my life back, and I wanted to help others do the same. I became a group fitness instructor and later earned my certification as a personal trainer and nutritionist through ISSA. My passion is helping others—especially those who feel stuck, just like I once did.

No matter your age, fitness level, or personal challenges, I can help you build strength, lose weight, and feel your best. Whether you’re a young adult chasing a six-pack, an overweight overwhelmed mom, or a senior wanting to stay strong and mobile, I will create a fun, efficient, and personalized program to fit your lifestyle.
